What are the Neutralization Values and the Total Base Number (TBN)?
Neutralization Value is a general term for oil acid value or alkali value. It is a measure of the acid-base properties,Which is the number of bases or acids required to neutralize some oil.
Total Base Number refers to the amount of acid needed to neutralize the entire base component in the sample of 1 gram under the specified conditions, which is indicated by the number of milligrams of potassium hydroxide.
The changed of acid value in oil , which can indicate the consumption of alkaline additives (such as detergent) and the decrease of oil performance, but can not definitely predict the performance of oil products.
